Microsoft today have released a new feature in Microsoft Entra ID which allows users to easily change their Microsoft 365 online password from their My Security Info page.

This is a welcome change to Microsoft 365 support teams, consultants and administrators, removing the additional support burden of needing to guide users through potentially frustrating password changes.

Historically, if a user wanted to change their Microsoft 365 online password, they would also need to know their current password. While this used to be the norm, today where most services are authenticated through SSO and password technologies, actually knowing your password is becoming less common.

Now, users can simply log in to Office.com and access their My Security Info page. Here they can change their password WITHOUT having to re-enter their current password. This hugely improves the existing password change experience for users.

Try it out for yourself!

  1. Login to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo
  2. Next to the Password sign-in method, click Change.
